Creating A Meaningful Legacy

Help Ensure the Future of the Masonic Care Community

Help the Masonic Care Community continue its mission by becoming a member of the Pote Legacy Society. You will join a special group of contributors who are supporting the Masonic Care Community in their estate plans.

Brother Greenfield Pote offered the first dollar and began the process of building and maintaining a home for Masons, their wives, widows, and orphans. Our mission at MCC mission has expanded to serve all those in need of our services. Named in Brother Pote’s honor, the Pote Legacy Society is comprised of dedicated and caring donors who have established planned gifts in support of the Masonic Care Community. Becoming a member of the Pote Legacy Society is simple. Any donor making a planned gift contribution to the Masonic Care Community is automatically enrolled in the Pote Legacy Society.

Your Gift Matters

A planned gift could be the most important gift you ever make to the Masonic Care Community — and one of the easiest. A planned gift instrument helps you create a lasting legacy representing your lifelong values and aspirations. Your plans today can influence the lives of those who call the Masonic Care Community home now and for generations to come.

WHAT IS A PLANNED GIFT?

Quite simply, a planned gift is a contribution that is arranged in the present and allocated at a future date. Commonly donated through a will or trust, planned gifts are most often granted once the donor has passed away.

Including MCC In Your Will

A powerful way to ensure that our programs and services are available long into the future is by including the Masonic Care Community in your will. Creating a charitable gift in your will is very easy and requires very little time.

The following testamentary wording is suitable when creating a will provision for the Masonic Care Community:

“I give and bequeath the sum of $ _____ dollars to the Masonic Care Community, a New York, not-for-profit corporation, having its principal office at 2150 Bleecker Street, Utica, NY 13501 for any of the purposes for which it was established.”

While the language given above is suitable for most situations, it is recommended you consult an attorney in the drafting of a will or trust agreement. Specific circumstances may require the use of different terminology and an attorney or financial adviser may suggest changes to fit your individual circumstances.

ways to give

In addition to bequests through a will or trust, the following are additional options for creating a legacy gift to MCC:

• Life Insurance Beneficiary
• IRA or Retirement Plan Beneficiary
• Donor Advised Fund
• Charitable Gift Annuity
• Charitable Trusts
• Real Estate
