Everyone looks forward to the day they are able to retire.

However, back in 1985, when a young man by the name of Bob Butler began working for the Masonic Care Community, the word retirement never even crossed his mind.

During his many years of service at the Masonic Care Community, Bob filled a variety of roles as the times changed at the community grew. Bob went from working in the machine shop early in his career and then, eventually, running our popular Horticultural Center where he worked with the residents and children to enjoy the fascinating interactions with nature’s bounty regardless of the weather.

“Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work again,” said Bob during his retirement party last July. “I found that job 40 years ago.” He spent time each week visiting and educating the children of the Child Care Center. It would be the highlight of his week helping them to discover the wonders of plants.

Bob also loved working with the residents, he never met a resident he didn’t immediately get along with, and vice versa. He went above and beyond to make sure the residents felt right at home at Masonic Care Community.

Surrounded by his coworkers, the residents, and his family members, Bob was honored for his many years of dedication to the principles and work of our community.

THANK YOU, Bob, for all that you have done for us at Masonic Care Community!
